Lawrence Nahlik

Lawrence Nahlik has been a frequent visitor to Thailand since completing two years of service with the U.S. Peace Corps in 1979. Fluent in the Thai language, he has in recent years volunteered to help with recovery from the tsunami of December 2004, and served with Volunteers for Peace in 2006 on their ecotourism development project near Khao Yai National Park. Lawrence remains active in the Friends of Thailand, the alumni group for former volunteers. If asked what draws him back to Thailand, he'll reply, "I love the wonderful food, the gentle people, and the gorgeous beaches. . . and visits with my in-laws." Lawrence works in information technology at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, and is an avid bicyclist.
